Hi Juan,
I take no special precautions when I perform my backups. I do my image
restores a bit differently than most though.
I have my main computer set up to dual boot between Windows XP and Windows
2000.
I have Ghost 9.0 (updated) installed on both sides (I have 2 legal copies of
Ghost).
When I want to perform an image restore on Windows XP, I will reboot into
Windows 2000 and do the restore from there. If I want to restore Windows
2000, I restore it from
within Windows XP.
I thought that as long as I was dual booting, and both operating systems
supported Ghost 9, that I would do it this way. If I have to restore Windows
XP it takes me about 6-7 minutes, including the reboots. If I boot up using
the Ghost CD it takes me about 3-4 minutes to get into the CD's operating
system - then another 4-5 minutes to do the restore - then another 60 to 90
seconds to boot back into Windows XP
My way is faster.
Hey Rich, quick question for ya if you don't mind me jumping in......
When you restore your images does it automatically hide the partition
you restored?
I'm only asking because I have been using drive image for umpteen
million yrs and it has just one annoying problem. I do exactly what you
do, I have 4 OS's on 1 drive(all primary pt's) using BootMagic.....Any
partition I restore I have to open PartitionMagic, unhide the drive to
access drive letter change, change the drive letter to none, and than
re-hide.....I don't mind doing it but am wondering if your situation is
the same basically. I'm not familiar with Ghost...........
Thanks..........
