any luck with Half-Life Op Force?

I spent a few weeks last spring trying to find a way to get the Opposing
Force expansion pack to work on my XP computer, no luck. Regular Half-Life
worked fine. Got a new system (Dell XPS) a few months back, same deal. I
updated, patched, you name it, no luck. Game hangs at the 'loading' screen
each time. Scouring the net, I found a few others who had the same
problem. Anyone know any tricks?

Hopefully your Direct X is all updated and your video card and sound card
drivers
are all updated. One thing that I found on some games was that the computer
has problems doing the copyright checking on the CD. Try the above items
and see if they work
