Dear all,

I've read that SP3 will prompt for an activation key after a month of
installing. Is it true?

....and, where did you read this? A fairy tale book?

Completely false. You need to be more selective in what you read.

Well, my PC stated that I had an invalid key after SP3 installation
and gave me 30 days to correct it. I re-entered my product key and
now all is well.

Not quite sure if that's what you'd call http://microsoft.com...

...which states that the activation process is changed somewhat, in
particular allowing a reasonable time for re-activation after hardware
change.

This also (IME) has the effect that some machines may need re-activating. If
the machine is one with an OEM Windows, it may have been pre-activated with a
nonvalid key, in which case you may possibly have problems re-activating it.
Though, in most cases entering the sticker key will fix this.

Well of the few people I know only one had to reactivate after SP3 - that
came as a surprise of course - and was a totally valid license - never
changed or reinstalled - Only had to call MS once and was quickly
reactivated - MS hadn't a clue as to why ????????
Just for your info !!!!!
