We have been having some issues with a branch setting thier mail delivery to
a PST file rather than thier exchange mailbox. Sometimes reminders fail to
work, sometimes mail fails to be delivered. The people at the remote location
over VPN want this configuration because it keeps their mailbox size small.

Are these types of issues common with this configuration? Is there something
that we are missing? They use Outlook 2007 SP1 No other mail in the profile.
I have rebuilt profiles. Switching the mail delivery option alway seems to
fix this issue.

We are using Exchange 2003.

There are issues with delivering to a PST, but usually these are not the ones.
However, you should always have your delivery location as the Exchnage mailbox
when using Exchange in order to get the benefits of using Exchange, and if
mail takes to much space, configure a rule that moves only mail (i.e., items
using the Message form) to the PST, leaving all other types of items in the
mailbox.
