Any ideas on why my RDC isn't working?

I am having difficulties getting RDC to work on my PC. I
am using WinXP Pro on a PC that is behind a router and a
DSL modem. I have all traffic from the modem forwarded to
the router, and port 3389 forwarded to my internal IP.
When I try to connect to my home PC from work I cannot get
connected. I can ping the WAN IP of my home PC and I have
VNC installed and working fine, as well as a host of other
ports forwarding without problems. I have added my
username to the allowable RDC users. Under the general
tab of RDC I am entering my IP address, account username,
account password, domain is blank. Any ideas?

What is the error message if any?
Are you sure Remote Desktop is enabled on the host?
Does this work over the local LAN?
Are you calling using the correct public internet IP, ie. the IP your ISP assigns?
Try this telnet test to see if you can pinpoint the problem area.

Sure enough the port is responding as closed, even though
I have opened it exactly the same as the ports on VNC and
the other programs I use. Can I change the port that RDC
runs on?
