Any ideas of integrating Unix with Excel?

Hi there,

I'm trying to see what people are doing in terms of building solutions that
somehow integrate Excel with Unix. Even simple ideas will do. If you have
any sample code that would be great.

What do you mean by "integrate"? "run on", "talk to"...?
What kind of tasks are you interested in performing?

Specifically I would like to do the following:

From Excel Run certain commands in Unix (I want it to be configurable so I
can change the Unix environment and re-run the command.
Also I want to ability to FTP files to Unix Environments straight from Excel
as well as to be able to download files from Unix Environment straight to
Excel with a click of a button.
