Any Idea? Weird HDD problem

W

will

Thanks for the info. I had 4 of this series of drives in 2 different
computers with 450W psu's different cables and they still clicked. The two
that clicked failed the Matrox drive test so I rang Matrox and they said the
drives were broken and there was nothing I could do to fix them. Maybe the
power problem was in the drive and the drive heats up and loses power every
now and then.

Hard drives are DEFINITELY the weakest link in a computer system. If
anyone does a manufacturer's diagnostic...and the results come back as
it being defective...then it should definitely be replaced. Many
manufacturers now require a diagnostic code before they will RMA
it...or at least a good argument! lol

But the industry standard is that over 60% of the drives returned for
RMA are not defective at all. Something else is causing the problem.
Usually, the problem is electrical or data-continuity specific.

Once we get away from a mechanical device for storing our data, we'll
REALLY see computers develop into what they can be.

Except...I'm not sure what they CAN be!! lol

Have a nice week...
