you guys know of any good reg cleaners that I can use that will allow me to
delete all of an entree at once.

example: I uninstalled Corel WordPerfect and want to delete everything from
my reg. I have to do it one at a time with RegEdit in Windows XP.

Thanks Paul

Cleaners usually do more harm than good. Unless you have some compelling
reason to do so it's best to leave the registry intact.

Hi Paul

XP manages the Registry by itself. Using one of these so called Registry
'cleaners' can do more harm then good and possibly render your PC
unbootable. I would suggest that you allow XP to manage the Registry and
not use one of these 'cleaners'.

I use Norton Utilities WinDoctor, but I seldom run it.

JV16 Powertools has a pretty effective cleaner (30 day trial for free).
But I manually check each entry even when it has been marked as "safe to
remove". I just had an older version of WP I removed on a w2k partition
and there were over 400 entries the uninstaller didn't remove.

Just be sure to click on each key it finds and make sure it has
something to do with WordPerfect, Corel, or its path.

It also makes a backup prior to any removal of the entries it is removing.

XP may manage the registry, as you say. I don't know about that.
All I know is that every time I run EasyCleaner or CCleaner, they
find a lot of crap in the XP registry and clean it out for me.
I've never had a problem using a registry cleaner.

You're very lucky then. EasyCleaner can, if not configured properly, cause
problems. I would never recommend anyone use any Registry 'cleaner'.

EasyCleaner is very conservative by default.
