I was wondering if their is a good EXCEL Formula websites out their.

I found some but they didn't list a lot of formulas.

So where is the secret page on excel formulas?
thanks as always

Since they're secret, if we told you we'd have to kill you...

It would be helpful, though, to specify more of what you want - and what
you've already rejected, so that we don't waste your time with sites
that don't meet your criterion for "lots of formulas"

Most sites try to be *useful*, listing appropriate formulae to
accomplish tasks, rather than just being a list of lots of formulae.
Formulae, in and of themselves, very rarely are useful.

I think you're already there, my friend.

Excel functions are the building blocks used to construct a desired result.
No exhaustive list would ever be exhaustive enough and still be usable. Yes,
there are some general types of formulas, but so many times the users need
them tweaked in very particular ways.

Here's what I'd recommend:
1)Whenever you have time, scan the Excel Function help sections. Not to
memorize all the functions, but to learn what they are capable of doing.
Many times, just knowing something is possible helps shape your solution.

2)When stuck...Google for an answer. You'll be amazed at how many hits there
are for some searches. For instance, I just searched for "convert text to
numbers" and got 2,250 hits.

3)If you don't find what you're looking for...Post a question. Make sure
you post what you're starting with (structure, sample data, etc), what you
want to achieve, AND what you've tried that didn't work. THEN...give us at
least a few hours to see what we can do for you. (Remember: We don't work
for Microsoft...We just enjoy helping)

4)Build yourself a "formula stash" of formulas you've used and good ideas
that you forsee yourself using.

I hope that helps.

Statistical and Money related Formulas...

Sure it helps. The old food for thought.

I guess I was hoping one of you had some secret list of bookmarked
sites.

I guess I'll dig for another hour..

Most (if not all) of the regular posters here have tried to find the mother
lode of formulas, to no avail.

Just for the record.....I follow my own advice and currently have a stash
that's up to 138 generic "approaches" to solutions that I use as a jumping
off point.

Good luck with your search. If you find what you're looking for, please post
the URL here.

If you want a workbook that lists all the Excel worksheet functions, download
this one from Peter Noneley.

Very good examples and usage of all the Excel Functions.

Or just look in help for functions and examples.

This is excellent advice. I do the exact same thing. I have 278 sample files
and every file contains many variations of formulas for a particular task.
One day I'd like to compile all these formulas into a book.

Something to keep in mind...

Some of the formulas used to do certain things are really complex and,
speaking for myself, it's hard to remember the exact formula structure for
the task. So, instead of starting from scratch and writing a new formula you
just look in your library and you have the basic formula already written.
