Any freeware app to re-format an ntfs partion to fat32, form a bootable floppy?

That being the case, I am more than happy to stick with Thunderbird.

Even faster:

While reading a message from "jerk" just _right_ click on the name and
select "create filter."

Creates a "delete him" filter for all future emails from that address.

Top posting makes it easier for me to read my news groups because I ignore
every
top poster and don't read their posts.

Which is ridiculously anal and useless.

To me the sensible approach would be to follow on the same way as the
second posting. If the second message is top-posted continue with
top-posting. If the second message is bottom-posted continue on bottom
posting. My own preference is to bottom-post but this is virtually
impossible if posting to a Microsoft group.

Thanks, I reckon I've got it sorted. Fingers crossed.

Things are getting oh-so-slightly beyond a joke in this newsgroup. I
don't mind the occasional off-topic post (probably has to be funny or
vaguely relevant to the newsgroup [discussing Vista is technically
off-topic, but I'm not going to carp about it if the comments are even
slightly intelligent and not trollish]), but holy crud. What certain
people don't realise is that although they think they're being
incredibly clever, what they miss is that they're actually just really
sad losers. No doubt they'll read this and actually think that they have
in some way "won out" over me, and reacted in exactly the way they had
hoped. Oh well, that's how it is with some people.

Yes. Top-posting is the default setting with MS OE or Outlook Office.

There is no better or worse, imo. It's just considered better netiquette to
bottom post. Some will scream at you for top posting (waste of time, imo)
and others will look the other way, but consider you a newbie. Being
considered a newbie, isn't all bad, but it kinda makes people dismiss your
pov, even if its valid. Puzz

Forget this netiquette-vetiquette business. That was something we
talked about as a very rough guideline when we had only a couple or
three newsgroups. Newsgroup posts consisted of only a few lines then --
you could read an entire exchange of messages in a couple of text
screenfuls. Yes, I've been on the Net since the days of ARPANET before
what's called "the Internet" came into being.

Even though, you dance on two weddings at the same time.

You hang out your genius hindu stuff but do not care about Usenet.
Crosspostings are regular, but you trample it down to tiny pieces,
IMHO. One or two callouts should reach.... if you do not get response
so fast then you should rethink your tactic.

What I *truly* love, though, are those threads where the first post is
reaaaaaly long, and you have to hit that "Continue reading" link

I don't have any links in the posts I read. Maybe that's because I
read news in a news client.
With bottom posting, you have to hit the "continue" button to read EVERY REPLY

Your entire post fit on one screen.
even if they're just adding something like "Me too!"

Someone never heard of "trimming".
Me, I'd killfille people who talk about killfiling people with
different posting strategies. But surely nobody's *quite* that
tightassed.

I wouldn't killfile anyone solely for top posting, but I find that
most of the people I killfile are top posters.

It seems to me that with the judicious use of <plonk> and kill files we
can have two *separate* alt.comp.freeware newsgroups under the same
heading, one for top posters and another for bottom posters.

We already have a newsgroup for top posters, Susan - alt.dev.null.

So you see nothing wrong with this method of posting, is that it?

I hope you don't carry that philosophy over to driving. Some folks
drive drunk.

God forbid you should find a person's thoughts at the top of their
post, rather than getting to scroll down and search for the first line
without a ">".

Yeah, right, you top-posted, so now your "reply" is above the
other TWO, making it so much "easier" to follow things.
