Hi folks!

Just want to connect some external TV tuner via USB to my notebook. I am
thinking of one of the following:

- Terratec Cinergy 200 USB
- Leadtek Winfast TV USB II 2.0
- Hauppauge WIN TV PVR USB2
- Pinnacle PCTV Deluxe (maybe)

So I want to get a little more information except the commercial ones,
each telling me how good, cool, and so on, their product is.

I know, Google is my friend, but not in this case :-(

So if anybody can tell me more about such items, or even made
experiences with those things, please tell me!

Thanx a lot!

I had the previous version of the Hauppauge, the WinTV-USB. The main problem
with it was that the sound arrived at the PC in real time via a separate
audio cable into the Line input of the sound card while the video was
compressed in the adapter then showed down the USB cable and finally
decompressed in the PC. This resulted in the video being about half a second
behind audio. Annoying loss of lip sync. I don't know whether this is still
the case with the current versions. Check for the presence of a separate
audio cable in the kit.

I have to second this... Had the same issue on my HP P3 laptop with Intel
video.

Tuner worked fine on the desktop PC's though... at least as well as USB1 can
work for that kind of usage. Mono sound only and mediocre qualitiy due to
compression.
