Some opinions about antivirus program: what is better for windows 98, XP? I
dont like Norton, it makes a mess, throws a vaste amount of it files on all
system. Kaspersky has a tendency to block whole internet connection. Some
program that non obtrusive, use low system resources and does not prevent
work.

Computer Associates (EZ Antivirus).(12-month free trial)
F-Secure (6-month free trial)
McAfee (90-day free trial)
Kaspersky antivirus
Panda Software (90-day free trial)
Symantec (Norton) (90-day free trial)
Trend Micro (90-day free trial)

Your question shouldn't be which one, but which ones? (plural).
I like Ad-Aware for cleaning up adware, CrapCleaner for cleaning up temp
files, and Spybot S & D - all of these are Free.

Then I also havea firewall thru Zone Alarm - can't do without one of those.
you may be able to get a free version.
And finally, I use Firefox.

You best defense against viruses is multiple defenses.

And I second - Norton = awful.

The problem with questions like this about opinions is that if enough people
answer, you'll find someone to prefer every one of the choices. That leaves
you back where you started.

That said, I'll give you my opinion: I use and like Avast.

You best defense against viruses is multiple defenses.

None of those will protect *anyone* from a virus.
And I second - Norton = awful.

Finally! Something true! Can you recommend an *anti-virus* program
instead of changing the subject?

Yes, you are right in this point. Also, its important, how frequently
anti-virus bases updated and new viruses investigated. Kaspersky AV is best
in this point, in my opinion.

Keep telling yourself that. After all, it's your computer and your money
but No One Cares is the big bad wolf guarding your hen house.
