Antivirus not running

I disabled Norton antivirus in my winini startup files to
install Windows XP and now I cannot run/restore Norton
Antivirus. It won't start and I cannot get
to "run" "msconfig". I even reinstalled the antivirus and
it is not responding. Is there another path to run
msconfig or to get to my startup log?

Please help.

Keith;
Go here and search for the appropriate version of "symclean" and
download.
http://www.symantec.com/search/

Reboot
Disable Norton.
Uninstall Norton.
Use Symclean to get rid of rest of Norton.
Reboot.
Verify your version of Norton is compatible wit Windows XP then
install.

Otherwise contact Symantec for resolution.
