Antivirus not loading on taskbar

Hi, my McAfee Antivirus and some other program is not loading during start up
anymore after ive done some registry editing. Now the icon doesnt even show
up in the task bar which previously before the registry editing was there to
protect the computer while online and while other programs are running.

I'm sure I didnt delete any important thing in registry since i follow what
i found from www.pestscan.com. I tried downloading the TaskBarRepairToolPlus
but an error occur when i', trying to run it.

The error is run-time error '-2147023782(8007045a)':
Automation Error Dynamic Link Library(DLL)Initialization
Routine Fail

Any idea what is wrong?

Go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore and choose
"Restore my computer to an earlier time." Pick a date on the calendar prior
to when you did the registry editing. That will restore the registry. Then
reconsider what you are trying to do.

Hmm, I can't possible do the system restore coz all the registry I deleted
was adware or trojan detected by the online pest scan
www.pestscan.com/scan.asp. If i use system restore i will restore the
corrupted registry? Any other way to bypass this problem?

"Restore my computer to an earlier time." Pick a date on the calendar prior
to when you did the registry editing. That will restore the registry. Then
reconsider what you are trying to do.

Try running the app and looking for the "load on startup" switch.

Hmm the enable on-access scan during start up box is checked but there is no
icon in the taskbar. there is no indication of McAfee running at start up coz
before the problem there is a red mcafee popup everytime i start my comp.

You can go back and forth between restore points, so I would restore back
and redo the virus and spyware scans if needed. In fact I would go as far
back as the first available restore point and clean up as needed. You can
work forward from there if you want to.

Thanks for the advice. I manage to solve this by doing repair install on the
anti virus program. Your advice did help a lot though. Cheers.

You can go back and forth between restore points, so I would restore back
