AntiVir playing up...

Hey,

For some reason, Antivir wont activate the guard.
Everything else is fine.
It says the guards status is 'unknown' so i looked on help on their website after clicking on a provided link, and that wasnt available.

Will i have to reinstall it?

oh dear now its all changed.
The guard isnt activated anymore, and it wont let me reactivate it

Absolute nonsense.

Google for comparitive reviews.

AVG is Ok, it's fair, used it myself for two years, but common consensus is Antivir best free one of all.

Only ones better are paid for, such as Kasperski & NOD 32

Antivir has thrown up a few warnings for me, it's only happened since they upgraded and have been heavy on the advertising to get you to pay for improved version.

I think you'll find, if you ignore these warning screens and regular pop-up screen when updating, it upgrades Ok and updates anyway.

Antivir used to take the attitude 'everybody use our free product'. Now they've proved themselves, they've sniffed the money and have changed their attitude and I think that may have something to do with all these 'error' warnings.

It may be only a matter of time before Antivir is not free. But for now, it is.

Stupid guard wont work still!

Ah now its definitly fixed.

When my pc boots an immediate connection to the internet is established., and the guard isnt active.
Then when i disconnect the internet, the guard is active and i can reconnect to the internet without it playing up.
