Does OneCare still not support Vista? Any recommedations on a Vista-friendly
antivirus?

Microsoft itself is not too interested in supporting x64 enabled software or
services. MSN Music stuff, Windows Meida Player stuff, all kinds of ActiveX
controls, stuff for IE 6 x64, Live stuff, OneCare stuff. At least they are
attempting to do Defender for XP x64. (Doesn't work though.)

As for partners, it is practically impossible to get good x64 Antivirus
support for XP, much less Vista.... not sure about Vista x86 though.

No, Windows OneCare won't be supported until after Vista is released, right
now its target base is Windows XP. Recommendations, Windows Life Safety
which is online scanner, eTrust Enterprise 8.0 Public Beta Trial, Macaffee
Enterprise 8.0 BETA for Vista is expected in March, Avast! Home 4.63 (please
disable web shield), Symantec AntiVirus for Vista

"As for partners, it is practically impossible to get good x64 Antivirus
support for XP" - I am running Symantec AV 10.0.1 and it works just fine on
x64 (Avast and Nod32 are free.
I beg to differ:
Avast! - http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-for-linux-workstation.html
Nod32 - http://www.nod32.com/home/home.htm

AVG Professional - http://www.grisoft.com/doc/Single/lng/us/tpl/tpl01
eTrust 7.1 (CA) - http://www3.ca.com/solutions/Product.aspx?ID=156

Yeah but how many of these work or are obtainable, AVG fails to install,
Symantexc needs a license code. NOD I'm about to try.

OneCare Live is expected to be rolled out into beta at the time of RC1 (a
month or so after the Beta 2 release, and about the same time OneCare Live
is released as a full product) and will be run as a beta on Vista.

NOD 32 came installed on my Vista computer. Works better than others I
have seen.

One care RTM'd in a lot of countries the same day Vista went on sale to the
public and 1.5 works in Vista. One twist I've noticed.

Vista loads with Defender. One Care has its own native spyware scanner. It
turns off Defender and you don't need it, but Defender will boot up with a
bang on it. You could run Defender too and I have, but I just hide
Defender. I haven't seen a lot written about this but WOC 1.5 comes with its
own Spyware scanner.

The market release of Windows Live One Care is completely Vista and XP
compatible. In fact, Best Buy was giving it away with new Vista OS sales. I
am using Vista and WLOC on my computer and everything is working like a
dream.
