Anti-Virus and Spyware/Malware Newsgroup

Hi:

It sure would be nice if Microsoft would come up with a new Newsgroup
dedicated just for Anti-Virus and Spyware/Malware. I am sure someone else
has thought of this before, as it would be a very popular Newsgroup for all
concerned.

Now everything applicable these topics would be listed within one
Newsgroup and I feel would be very beneficial to all concerned. Since
Microsoft is now into the Anti-Virus and Spyware/Malware they should be open
too establishing this new Newsgroup.

Maybe this has been posted somewhere previously and if so I apologize. I
have posted this on 3 multiple Newsgroups.

Thanks

You should look before you leap...
There has been a News group for as long time !

BTW: Microsoft is NOT new to the anti virus game. They have just been LOUSY at it.
It started with an OEM version of Central Point Anti Virus (CPAV)which was including in
Win3.1x as MSAV. It didn't last long.

A few years ago Microsoft bought RAV and only recently introducts the Malicious Software
Removal Tool (MRT) and Live OneCare. Hopwever, LiveCare is one of the WORST anti virus
applications in the anti virus industry with one of the lowest catch rates.

That's ONLY for Windows Defender and needs authentication.

Considering that is a PRIVATE Verizon News Group and not a public, not a very good
suggestion. Take into account that the requestor of the information is on Comcast and you
gave him a NON-answer. Add to that the fact the requestor was specific about Microsoft News
Groups.

Now I want you to realize anti malware is NOT "On Topic" in that spam News Group either.

So overall, this was a really *bad answer*.
