anti spyware fails to run

the spyware runs for approximately 17,000-19,000 files
s´canned and then just crashes. It is then impossible to
shut the application down and although it has detected 9
spyware programs I cannot delete them if the program
doesn't finish. What can I do????

try to do a scan in safemode, (F8 at bootup)
