Micro$oft Anti-Virus/Spyware software question

Matt

Just wondering, I have Microsofts antivirus/spyware
software beta installed and when i run the program most of
the time it comes up with absolutly nothing, No when i run
No-Adware on my PC it comes up with 15 spyware threats(in
that proximity) and norton even comes up with only one. No
being the developer of my operating system you would think
that microsoft anti-virus/spyware tool would know what
belongs and what doesn't belong on their own operating
systems. Is this because the microsoft virus/spyware
database is limited? I sincerly hope that when the
finished Microsoft Anti-Virus/spyware is finished and
ready for final production that it supports and has a much
bigger spyware/virus database that can be accessed.
Please post any comments to my message that might help me
to understand why this application is worth the download
and why it might be of use to use over No-Adware. Thanks

Presently, Microsoft antispyware doesn't scan for cookies, which accounts
for much of the difference in such detection tests.

Do you happen to know if the final release of the app.
will have that feature?

I don't know this, but it wouldn't surprise me if Andre's answer turned out
to be correct.

Cookies are not harmful Matt. If you want to turn up the notch on cookie
control right now, you can go into your IE settings and adjust them to be
prompted for cookies, which is what I do. Furthermore, don't put all your
eggs in one basket - use multiple anti-spyware products. What one misses,
the other will often catch.
