Another working offline question

I like to download my e-mail and read it off line. The
only problem is that some of it may contain either a link
to a website or an ad or some other thing that the
computer has to be on line to retrieve. This causes my
computer to log on to the web. This also happens if I am
working with any program that displays hyperlinks and I am
not on line. This is getting to be a real pain as the only
way I can avoid it is to remember to click on "File"
and "work offline" before I close my browser (IE 6.1) or
OutLook Express. Is there some way to stop this automatic
logging on?

Thanks,
Bill

In Outlook Express you can select Tools/Options/Read Tab and select the
"Read all messages in plain text" option. In IE, there is also an option to
"Never dial a connection" option in Tools/Internet Options/Connections Tab.
With this enabled you would need to specifically log on with your default
connection.

Thanks Ronnie,
However I already tried to find the "Never Dial a
Connection" option and have yet to locate it. Maybe I am
not digging deep enough. To me XP is like going to your
favorite store and finding they have moved everything. I
am still adjusting as I only swithched to XP at the
beginning of this summer.
I will try switching to plain text in OutLook Express.

"Never Dial a Connection" option:

Start
Control Panel
Internet Options
Connections tab
Never dial a connection
