Another Stab at Continuous Music in Background Question

D

Dennis

I sent this question to the board last week but have not received a
response. Thought I tried again. Thanks.

I have PP 2007 which I'm using to create a presentation which will
run across a closed television channel within our community. I was
hoping someone might tell me how I can incorporate music to run in
the background of this presentation. I have down loaded several music
CDs to a file and now want them running with my slide presentation.
This presentation will be a continuous loop of about 50-70 slides.
Appreciate any help or pointers.

You would be better off converting the CDA files into MP3 files, then follow
the procedures found here
Play sounds across multiple slides (A WAV runs through it)http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00047.htm

Michael,

Thanks for the info. I tried this but when I run the slide show I
hear no music. I set up the show using the instructions on the page
you provided. I used by sound by file and clip organization. Also
tried to have a CD track selected but had no sound on any. I can play
the track and get music on my computer but not with the slide show.
Am I missing something? Appreciate anything you can add. Again, I
will be running a slide show containing community news/events across
our close-circuit tv channel and wish to have music backgroup running
during the loop showing.

When you play the sound on your computer, what program does the playing? You

Michael,

I was finally able to run my test power point project with
continuous music running the background. I created a playlist in
Microsoft Media Player and was able to use that. However, I now need
to be able to create a power point presentation on my home machine
with the music and export it to another computer which is the link up
for our close circuit tv. I tried to do this putting my file on a
flash drive and playing it on my laptop but the music wasn't there. I
copied the file created on Media Player to my PP file but it appears
to have nothing in it. I also found that when setting up the PP file
to run, it said I had a photo vice sound file to run and couldn't set
up the file properly.

Any help on how to create this and be able to export it to
another computer? Appreciate the help.

To get it to work properly, all the music must be in the same folder as your
PowerPoint presentation before you insert it into PowerPoint. Then when you
move it, you must copy all the music files long with the presentation to
whatever media your using. I would not try playing it from the flash drive.
I've had mixed results using that method. Better to copy all of the files to
whichever computer your using to present your presentation. Here is another
link you might like to look at.
Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or
email a presentation
