another question from the not so smart new user

I'll start at the beginning....sort of.
I just got this laptop, I was using OUTLOOK on my desktop. Is there any way
that I can get my address book from OUTLOOK on my desktop, into windows mail
which I'm using on this laptop?
I'm talking about OUTLOOK and not OUTLOOK EXPRESS.

Have a look in Start > Help and Support > search on "import address"
and you will be presented with some possibilities
 
Try File | Export in Outlook and export the contacts as a CSV file. Then
copy that to the laptop and use File | Import | Address book in WinMail.
