Another publish question

My domain name has not been moved over yet so that has given me the chance to tinker around with the site a bit. My host has FP 2002 ext installed but without the domain name changed, FP will not publish to the address that my host gave me. I guessed that would happen and since I'm just testing right now, no big deal. I have been using FTP with no problem except none of my forms are working. My question: WHEN I do get the name transferred and everything ready to publish inside of FP (instead of FTP), what should I do then? Should I delete all the files that I FTPd to the site and upload everything from FP? Will everything be OK if I just leave it alone and go ahead with the FP publishing? The extensions are installed now. Should I upload then re-install the extensions or vice versa? It's all so confusing.

Thanks everyone!

Simply republish but force it to publish
via http://
That's how I usually do it.
