Another cannot save movie / how to convert in WMM?

After reading through all the topics of similar problems in here, I think the
problem is that I must change all my .mpeg files to .avi
The issue is, I have trimmed all my clips within WMM and they are all .mpeg
Is there a way to convert the files without having to re-insert them into my
movie, and re-trimming them?
This is for a project due in 2 days, btw. I am freaking!

Okay... I ended up having to re-do it all, but now there is another problem
I tried to save it on my PC, it said it would take all night (it did)
In the morning, it said the file was 11KB and 0:00 minutes long (obviously
wrong)
Then I tried to burn it to disc as a movie file, and it had that automatic
error message partway through.
Any help?
