anonymous logon in event viewer

i am having lots of anonymous logon attempts to my
windows xp computer

and when i click on the event i find ou that the
workstation name is the name of the computer next room

surprisingly i go check at the same time and i find that
the guy next door is not there but he has left the
computer on.

what is happenning

That is hard to say. It could be many things,
included a sophisticated, automated process
that runs within someone needing to be there.
It could be something very innocent, but why
not just turn on your firewall ?
