Annoying Tooltips

Is there a way to globally turn off Tooltips? They are so
annoying and keep covering up what I'm trying to see.
They're OK if they only appear 2 seconds after you
mouseover something because you can wait for them to apear
if you want them to. But when they instantly appear and
cover up what you're trying to read, especially code, it's
terribly annoying. If anyone knows how to assimilate,
annihilate, or otherwise destroy and remove them, I would
really appreciate it. Thanks, Star
 
Nothing to do with the operating system. No idea what development
environment, but try Tools|Options|Editor and uncheck the box for "Auto
Quick Info"
