Annoying Pop-up Reminder

I have Windows XP Professional and Office Professional.
I keep getting a window that comes up, and the only way I
can get rid of it is to go into Task Manager and select
End Task. The Window looks like it is from the internet
explorer and will display the following: "Reminder
Wednesday, October 22, 2003 3:45 pm" in the title bar
and below, it will have an Internet Explorer page
with "This Page Can Not Be Displayed" message. This pop-
up will display even when we do not have the Internet
Explorer open. I do have a picture of this page, but I
can not display it in this posting. Any help would be
appreciated. Thank you.

Sounds like a remnant of some shareware or evaluation software
that you tried and subsequently removed. Since you can use Task
Manager to close it, you know the application's name. Simply use
MSConfig to show you where the command starting this program is
originating, so that you can permanently eliminate the source of your
irritation. Look in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start
Menu\Programs\Start Up and C:\Documents and Settings\username\Start
Menu\Programs\Start Up folders, and in the system registry, primarily
in the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys.
