ANNOYING LITTLE PROBLEM

Hey,
I tag the option "Use drop shadows for icon labels on
desktop" in the System>Advanced>Perfomance tag, but
nothing happens. My labels just stay opaquely
backgrounded. What can I do to make them look pretty
again?
