annoying auto detection

I recently replaced the hard drive in my PC and had to rebuild Windows.

It now detects every printer around the place that anyone has defined as
sharable.

I don't wish to see these printers so how can I stop this auto detection?

thanks

that's the explorer.exe process searching for file shares and print shares
in your WORKGROUP configured setting.

Disable this feature in any desktop window , Tools, Folder Options, View,
Automatically search for network folders and printers. Uncheck the box and
delete the printers.
