Hi Willy,

my first experiences with VStudio (Express Editions) on my XP Pro
System (up2date):

http://entwicklung.junetz.de/tmp/hta_install_fail.jpg
http://entwicklung.junetz.de/tmp/vcppee_instal_fail.jpg

The HTA Error is not a real problem,...did start installations by hand
executing setup.exe. But the second one,...failed for two products:
VC++ and VC#. Will anaylze logs for more information,...

A little disappointing for my "expectations"a nd for a RTM,...

Regards

Kerem

Kerem,

I had no issues installing the Team System edition on a "clean" system. I
have no experiences at all in installing Express editions of VS though, all
I know is that you can run into some issues if you had Beta versions
installed, better install on a clean system.

Willy.

The only hiccough that I had was that the uninstall of beta 2 left the beta
of .net 3.5. The new install did not like that and told me so. Once
removed, the install of C# express went smooth.

Hi Willy,

i have two systems on my computer running from real different
partitions on different physical drives. One is for Beta, Trial
and Tryouts, just for the experimental case. The other is for
Release and RTM Software. The installation has been started
on the Release system since this was a release build of the EE.
But the Problem was solved quickly: You had to reboot after
every installation, but the Installer didnt tell me that. It is obvious
that you "should" reboot your system after such an impact but
who wants to do this in installing 4 VS Products and always
reboot after each setup? But this worked for me, just for the
case someone is asking for a (possible) solution.

I am sorry for the fact that i dont have the install log anymore
but it told me something from a still running instance of the installer,
though there was no more process visible pointing to any installer
or related process. The reboot of the system made the installation
process go,...

Thats it,...

Regards
