Keep supporting the republicans and you will continue to pay high prices.
Just FYI.

Bush is an OIL man. Cheney is an OIL man. They could care less what the
prices are. Just FYI.

We have heard your request and will give you an award, but we will rename
it:

You will be getting the MVRRW award. The Most Valuable Right Wing Wacko
Award. Not many people get this award so we want you to show it off to all
your other cell mates at the asylum. Just FYI.

Adjusted for inflation, oil prices are about half what they were in Dec.
1979.

People never seem to get that.
You never hear people say " Back in '79, I made $102 a week"
All they remember is "gas was $.35 a gallon."

That is because successive Governments have adjusted what they consider
to be "Inflation". In 7 years my rent has almost tripled, gas has almost
tripled, energy has tripled and food is mostly at least double. My pay
however has not increased anywhere close to that. Inflation is NOT the
same as "Cost of living"

Hmm... in 12 years my mortgage has never changed.
Perhaps you should buy a house...landlords love to gouge people.
That's not "inflation", nor the government....

My energy bills are quite low...but my house is all electric and the
electric company is a co-op.

I'm not sure about food....my wife buys that stuff mostly.
Haven't seen any drastic change.

Inflation is the same for everyone, Cost of living depends on the individual

It is so sad what happened to Benazir Bhutto in Pakistan yesterday, its a
sad day for democracy. I hope the new year will bring peace, enlightenment
and prosperity to Pakistan.

That is exactly the point, you can refuse to "Call" it inflation but the
truth is that everyone in this town pays more for their accomodation
than 12 years ago. You have done well with the mortgage but property
taxes and everything have probablt increased. Does not matter whether
you "Define" things differently, it still costs you more to live. It is
the re-definition of things that make "Inflation" an arbitrary figure.

My energy bills are quite low...but my house is all electric and the
electric company is a co-op.

Again, good for you, no sarcasm intended, but many cannot say the same.

US food is still cheap, however it is still higher than it was.

Inflation is the same for everyone, Cost of living depends on the
individual

Agreed to some extent, however there is a realistic limit to how well
many people can control it. I drive a gas truck that does between 17 (On
a very good trip) and 8 pulling a trailer or in town. I have no choice
because I need the capacity sometimes, not all the time. I have looked
at a small car to use other times but the reality is that I never know
when I will need to haul something - so yes gas is a problem but I see
little choice.

Bwhahahahaha. If that were the case MS would be handing them out by the
thousands for all the bugs people submitted. Just curious if any of the
bugs are show stoppers?

If the bugs were show stoppers then they would stop the show!
