And it has operational problems, puts hundreds of links in the registry like
Symantec and doesn't remove those links when you uninstall it. It also
caused problems with the event log on WinXP for me, which affected my
nightly backups using the built-in WinXP backup app. I'd recommend staying
away from this.

If you used Total Uninstall you would remove them easy

I'd recommend staying away from this.

Yeah, I 2nd that, too. I had some blue screens of death with earlier
versions of Avast but now Avast has saved my computer from infection
many times over. Is there a anti-virus program that doesn't have lots
of hooks in the registry? I'm running Windows 2K SP3 with all the
latest patches (don't trust SP4 just yet, although when I update my OS
at M$, it shows I have SP4 installed (!!!)) - Mrs. Nezbit's Grandson
