Animation Doesn't Play When Viewing Previous Slide - Fix doesn't w

Hi, I used the information in article 197701 to partially solve my problem of
animations not playing when viewing a previous slide by inserting a hidden
blank slide with a transition of 0 before the slide with the animations, then
linking to that blank slide. The animations now play, but the blank slide
briefly flashed before going to the animated slide. How can I get rid of this
brief glimpse of the blank slide?

Thank you for any help!!!!
Below is the article that I used for the initial help:

"SYMPTOMS
While viewing your presentation in a slide show, if you select to view a
previous slide that contains text, graphic animations, or narration, the text
and graphics do not animate, and the narration does not play.

CAUSE
Microsoft PowerPoint only plays animations and narration when you advance to
the slide.

WORKAROUND
Method 1: Return to the Previous Slide
If you want to repeat the animation or narration on a particular slide,
return to the slide immediately before the slide containing the animation or
narration, and then click to advance to the next slide.

If this slide is the first slide of the presentation, you can insert a
hidden slide before it with its transition time set to 0 seconds, so that
when you return or link to that slide, instead the "first" slide, the
animations repeat normally when it automatically advances."

I like to copy the contents of the next slide (sans any animations) and
place it on the "blank slide". THat way even though you get a brief flash
you don't see it.

Well, I suppose if your handy with Visual Basic you could write a bit of
code to reset the slide to the beginning.

Thanks! I did see that in the article. I don't have Visual Basic, so I guess
I'll go with Plan A.

Thanks so much!!
