Animating a chart a Series at a time or element at a time

Please help
I inserted a chart-then I selected the chart and went to custom animation
and added an effect to fly in from bottom.

I clicked on the arrowhead directly next to the effect I added and selected
Effect Options from the list. In the dialog box, I selected the Chart
Animation tab but it only gives me one choice "As one Object"

What am I doing wrong--I want to be able to display the chart by one series
at a time or by one element at a time, there is only one option.
Thanks!!

Try using a simpler animation. The options available for "grouping" the
animation are dependent on a combination of the type of chart and the
animation you select.

See if an Appear allows you better grouping options. If so, then maybe a
Wipe will work instead of a Fly In.

Thank You!!
I investigated further to find it was the Entrance Effect that had a big
effect on it. It is still not as good as it was in the older version,
regarding control over the animation of a chart.
But I thank you -- it got me further along.

You're welcome.

Sometimes changing from a 3D chart to a 2D chart allows you to use the more
"active" animations.

Alternatively, you can always ungroup the charts and animate the pieces.
I'd keep a copy of the original chart/chart slide so you can edit it if you
need to later.
