I can't stop my animated gif from looping. I created the
image in fireworks, exported as animated without looping,
and it still loops in Power Point. Is there a way to
stop animated gifs from looping in Power Point?

Are you using PowerPoint 2000? PowerPoint 2000 had a bug in it and will always
loop an animated GIF. Only if you convert the GIF to an AVI can you prevent the
looping. See

If you are using PowerPoint 2002 or 2003 and still have the problem, please let
us know. I am doing some research on this very subject and may need to have a
look at Fireworks.

PPT 2000 pretty much ignores the headers in an automated GIF. If you want it
to run only the number of times you planned, you will need to upgrade to a
newer version. Fair warning though: Even in the newer versions the looping
information isn't read quite right.
