Animated GIF and AVI files

I can't seem to insert a movie file into my Powerpoint 2003 presentation and
play it.... the first frame appears and nothing else.

Also animated GIF files I have created in Serif Draw don't animate, again,
just show the first frame.

This presentation works perfectly on my old version of powerpoint..... Very
disappointed at the moment anyone know how to fix?

Probably the path length is too long.
Create a folder in C:\. Move your ppt and movie into the folder.
Re-insert the movie and see if it works.
