Analyze & Defrag

In Tools,analyze or defragmentation for some reason a light comes on and
some activity in floppy drive A.

Any suggestions why?

When you activate DEFRAG you activate a "search" for

fixed drives to defrag. It will check all your drives
before it stops on "C:" drive. If you have Norton
Utilities you can also defrag (Optimize) your floppy (A
disks.

FWIW, Kelly's Korner has a tweak to add defrag to the context menu.
This has gotten away from the primary question, though.
