Analog to MM2 using DVC 80 not capturing audio

I am trying to capture video using Dazzle DVC 80 with my
sony 8mm camcorder. The problem is that I am capturing
video, just not sound. It is a mono system. I have
checked all connections. I can hear the audio on the
camcorder, but I am unable to get any sound to my
computer. I have checked settings and wonder if I have
made so many changes,there is no hope in ever figuring
this out. What should I check, and how should my settings
be?
