An unexpected Error Occurred

FP2002: When I am editing an html page and select the Insert (picture) icon,
the file folder displays showing .gifs., jpg's etc but overlayed on that
display is the following gray error block:

Microsoft FrontPage
An unexpected error occurred: Not enough memory available to complete
the operation. Close other programs to make more memory available, and then
try again. <OK> If I select OK I can choose the image to insert and it works
fine. It is just an annoyance; but it happens every time.

I have a new Dell system with 512M RAM.

I have tried reloading FP2002.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Usually that error is referring to "Virtual memory" also known as the paging file.
A reboot "should" clear the problem.

Also, if the machine came with Norton AV / system works on it, Norton can cause the same problem.
I have seen Norton bring a new "fairly high speed" Windows XP machine to a dead stop, requiring a
restart.

The memory problem can be caused by a corrupted .web file.
With FrontPage closed, in Windows Explorer search for *.web files and delete
all found, but not those related to Xara.
The FP .web files are normally found in
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache
(copy and paste the above path into the Win Explorer address bar.)

The .web files will be recreated as and when required.
