AN EXTRA WORKBOOK IS OPENING NAMED "PERSONAL" EVERY TIME I OPEN A.

WHENVER I OPEN AN EXISTING EXCEL WORKBOOK, AN EXTRA WORKBOOK IS OPENING NAMED
"PERSONAL". SO BASICALLY 2 WORKBOOKS ARE OPENING AT ONCE. WHEN I OPEN AN
NEW WORKBOOK, IT IS AUTOMATICALLY TITLED "PERSONAL".

HOW DO I STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING?

You don't want to, but it should be hidden. Open it and select Window>Hide.
Then save. Personal.xls is a repository for code, etc, as Excel can only
work with code in open workbooks, it needs to be.
