Good afternoon,
I am trying to manage my alerts (from Sharepoint) inside Outlook. I
click the link or click the modify / view buttons and I get the error:
"An error occurred while browsing files". Based on what I have found
here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/224098
http://groups.google.com/group/micr...owsing+files"+firefox&rnum=1#5b4aeac10183923a
I have deduced the problem to be that I am using Firefox as my default
browser. Process monitor has shown this:
5515 1:31:19.9088623 PM OUTLOOK.EXE 3536 QueryOpen C:\Program Files
\Mozilla Firefox\FIREFOX.EXE -url "%1" -requestPending NAME INVALID
And, the file handler for "URL: HTTP..." matches this signature
(assuming the %1 would be replaced with the first argument).
I can open URL files and click URL's from many other applications with
no problems... Does anyone know a solution to this? Aside from having
MS rewrite the Outlook code to use more standard URL invocation
methods, is there a fix?
Best regards,
-Sean
