An alternative for Konfabulator

J

Jes

Everbody gets excited about Konfbulator going freeware. Me not.
I think it's an resource hog.
If you want widgets on your desktop try dotWidget:

http://www.k23productions.com/products/dotWidget/

Pro:
It is and was free. It uses less resouces than Konfabulator. It uses VB
script instead of Java.

Contra:
Only for Windows 2000, XP or 2003. And I still think widgets are
superfluous frippery.

Have a nice day.

I've seen this mentioned before, and it is wrong. Konfabulator uses
JavaScript as the widget scripting language, and has nothing to do
with Java.

Besides, as far as recommendations go, there's also Samurize:

I'll second that opinion on samurize. I have been using it for a while
and when konfabulator went to freeware I took a look at it. From what I
can see konfabulator is harder to build widgets with and there is not as
much functionality as in samurize widgets. I could be wrong but for now
I am going to stick with samurize.

Looks intimidating to me, but I am a simple man...I do not program.
