amibios and xp?

Anyone know if an old version of amibios, dated 8-14-01, will work with
xp, home ed? Got a crashed win98 computer I'm thinking installing xp
on.

Thanks. The old computer doesn't boot, except in safe mode and then when
loading the drivers one at a time, it freezes. I guess a clean install
sounds best.
