I am running XP Pro with am AMD 64bit processor. After
launching Lord of the Rings Return of the King and begin
play I receive the following error at various points
within the first few minutes of game play.

An error has occured and RoTK cannot continue.
Code C0000005 at 004614E5.

The Lord of the Rings; Return of the King; will now exit.

I have attempting to search out the address 004614E5 and
cannot locate anything on it. Does anyone know what this
address may be?

Thanks

Hi AC,

Before investigating deeper issues, I suggest you run dxdiag
to test your drivers, and make certain they're all up to date.

I think it's an issue with the game's copy protection. I did a quick GOOGLE
and it seems to be a common problem with burned archive back-ups of the RoTK
game disks. I've also seen reports of problems when a virtual cd-rom drive
is present. Some cd-burning packages like Nero install a virtual cd drive
if you do a full installation. So I'd suggest checking your start tray and
turning off any virtual drives.
