AMD vs Intel

Well, for someone who claims this thread is “nothing but wasted space†must
obviously feel this thread is still worthy to continue to comment on this
thread.

Isn’t that kind of strange? But then again, all of your comments on this
thread have been strange and merit no value.

Go figure: an AMD loser stuck on his low end, pathetic XP Athlon chip.

Your comments are also of no value. You "retaliate" against those whose
opinions differ from yours by claiming they are losers and then pretend to
know what kind of processor they are running. You did that to Bob I and you
said the same thing to me.

You are an infantile, conceited idiot that cannot see more than one side of
any discussion.

It's too bad you'll never know what it is like to have an open mind. You
are too stupid to realize that you may be wrong. You are to egotistical to
be able to admit it you are wrong.

It must suck being you.

The real sad thing is, it must suck that it's a damn shame you have to run a
no good AMD X2 chip.

Do us all a favor and toss that chip in the landfill like I told you before.

The X2 that I am running will outperform whatever Intel chip you are
running.

Ryan is truly incapable of any rational thought. He has based his entire
happiness on a bogus test of a nonexistent core, and thinks it means
something in the real world. He calls those who do not see things his way
names, and thinks that Intel is the leader today. He does not have his head
in the sand, but the rest of the world knows just where his head is...and
the sun don't shine there, either!

All I know Bobby, you can say what you want just like the rest of these AMD
morons, this "nonexistent core" you claim is not nonexistent to you because
it hasn't released.

Well, Bobby, mark my words: I guarantee you, you will be back on Intel's
side again real soon after Conroe releases.

Picture this: It is sometime in January 2007. I send you a message to this
same newsgroup.

Me: Hey, Bobby, what chip are you running these days?
Bobby: (Big silence) Uh ....um, I'm running one of those Conroe chips.
Me: What?!?! I thought you were hardcore AMD guy. What's going on?
Bobby: Well, I must admit, it appears back when you and I were going back
and forth in that thread in March of last year, you were right. I was dead
wrong about Conroe. I was the one who had their head in the sand.
Me: What do you mean you were dead wrong about Conroe?
Bobby: Back when all those benchmarks at the Intel IDF were posted, I had my
major suspicion. I will admit I had major doubts about Intel, but now I can
really see who is the real leader in processors. I deeply apologize and
realize I was the idiot who was narrow minded and did not have a clue about
Conroe in the first place.

One last question before I put you on my ignore list;

If Intel had a chip that could best AMD by 20%, do you think they would sit
on it until September?

I think they needed some publicity for the following reasons:

1. Three straight quarters of revenue loss.
2. three straight quarters of marketshare loss (to AMD).
3. Three straight quarters of public stock price declines.
4. Three straight quarters of Server market loss to AMD.

There are other reasons, but the ones above are the most obvious. Intel
does not have a chip that will out perform AMD *TODAY*, so they created a
non production chip on a non production motherboard and created a series of
synthetic tests to make that nonexistent chip outperform and AMD chip on a
two generations old motherboard, with outdated BIOS, and not using the same
memory type as what was on the Intel fabrication rig.

I won't run out and buy a Conroe when they are released. I will wait until
there is some valid third party testing under more realistic conditions. As
I stated earlier, I buy what give me the best "bang for my buck". That
certainly won't be a Conroe.
I give credit where credit is due. Intel has not made a competitive chip in
18 months. If and when they make a chip that can give AMD a run for the
money, I'll look at it. But the idea of buying a chip that will be locked
to a chipset and motherboard is not attractive. Just look at the history of
the Pentium 4 when it comes to upgradeability, and then look at AMD. Does
the Intel approach make sense to you?
(Ooops...forgot who I was talking to here...you wouldn't know "sense" if you
tripped over it).

Intel just came out with Presler. Do you think it be a good business choice
to release a chip now in March when they just came out with a new chip in
January? Obviously, you don't know have any business sense at all.

Just wait until those 3rd party benchmarks come. You will be eating your
words and you will be wanting a Conroe processor come September. Intel is
rightfully taking the performance crown back to convice AMD-morons like you
that they are still capable at putting together a great chip.

I guarantee it.
