....don't laugh, just help...operating on hand-me-downs, here...

Why can't I get XP Home Edition to load successfully without bluescreening?
Tried everything including pulling out all cards, disabling/enabling settings
in BIOS, etc.
Answers please !!!!!!

ASUS K7M-RM motherboard
AMD Athlon K7 550M processor
AMI BIOS 11/99 version
Maxtor 91021U2 hard drive

Not much information really given.

What service pack level is the Windows XP CD you are using to install at?
Have you checked for BIOS updates?
How much memory do you have?
What is the message on the blue screen?
Does Windows XP install and work in any way - including safe mode?
