Hi, Can anyone tell me how this CPU compares to a Pentium (equivalent) as
I'm thinking of getting a newer PC.

It is as fast as a Intel P4 2.8Ghz. and cost's about half of the price.

As long as you're not running anything that makes extensive use of
Intel's SSE2 instructions (unlikely) the Athlon performs about as well
as a 2.8Ghz P4, at ~half the price.
