Am I Infected?

Hi,

I've run into an occasional problem. Sometimes it seems as if someone else
is controlling my mouse. In addition, windows start opening and closing
rapidly and I'm not doing a thing.

I've run my virus programs and found nothing.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thank you.

Try these 2 Programs to find out.

http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html

Spybot Search & Destroy 1.6 is a very good, FREE Anti-Spyware Program.
Download, install, update, and immunize your System with it.
Then SCAN with it.
Update it, and scan your System once a fortnight.

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Malwarebytes is as the name says, a Malware Remover!
For the Free version scroll down their page to either download from
Download.com, or Major Geeks.com

Download, install, and update.

Important re: Safe Mode
If you happen to find a problem that you can’t uninstall / delete, reboot
the computer, and go into Safe Mode.
To get into Safe mode, tap F8 right at Power On / Startup, and use UP arrow
key to get to Safe Mode from list of options, then hit ENTER.
RESCAN your computer with your Anti-Virus, Malwarebytes and Spybot S & D
while in Safe Mode.

Thanks, Mick.

I already had Spybot but d/l Malwarebyes and TrojanKiller from Major Geeks.
Hopefully, they'll root out if there is a problem. I have a feeling it maybe
a popular site I visit as others have mentioned they sometimes have problems
after visiting there, too.

Ok. Good luck with it.
One Program won't remove everything.
I find the combo of Spybot S & D, and Malwarebytes just about will get
everything in Spyware/Malware Dept.

And be very careful what you download to supposedly remove the baddies.
Most of them are infections, themselves.

Here is something to have a look at, too:
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

SpywareBlaster 4.1 is a non-intrusive, FREE Anti-Spyware Program (no
scanning by you!).
SpywareBlaster prevents the installation of many so-called spyware, adware
and malware programs by disabling the CLSIDs of popular spyware ActiveX
controls, and also prevents the installation of any of them via a webpage
Update it once a fortnight.

I don't know whether you are infected with anything, but if you want
to check for it, let me point out the following:

1. You say "virus programs." I assume that you don't mean "virus
programs," but *anti*-virus programs. Virus programs are very bad. ;-)

2. Anti-virus programs are very far from being equally good. What
anti-virus programs did you run?

3. There are two broad classes of malware. Anti-virus programs detect
one of them, and anti-spyware programs detect the other. So running
just an anti-virus is nowhere sufficient to ensure that you are
uninfected with malware. Everyone should run both types of programs
regularly.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the input and the laugh :D

Ken, you're right they're anti-virus ;)

This is what I run:

AVG
Ad-Aware
Spybot S&D
Spyware Blaster
Spyware Guard
Hijack This
cwshredder

I've now added Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware &
Trojan Killer 1.3
