Outlook 2000
Internet Only(no microsoft exchage etc)(using IMAP server)
When sending and receiving, get the status dialog box and
putting checkmark in the 'always hide this dialog'
checkbox does not make it go away. I've found Microsoft
articles and articles on google on how to get it back once
you've hidden it, or how to hide it by putting checkmark
as above, but not how to get rid of it if the checkmark
option 'always hide this dialog' doesn't work.

This is a bug in Outlook XP. I am surprised to hear of it in Outlook 2000. It comes up and if you leave it alone, after a while it goes away right? I believe it is happening due to running VBScript when you receive e-mail.

I had the same problem in Outlook 98 -- maddening!

It was resolved by clicking on View, then making sure the Status Bar option was checked. Apparently, the dialog boxes will not be hidden unless the Status Bar is displayed. Hope this helps!
