My current XPE products are all built to be identical: same boards in same
slots, etc. After creating my image for these systems, I went thru the FBA
process, did some final config operations, then did an fbareseal. The
resulting image is then ghosted onto the targets when they're being
prepared, then they are booted, finish the FBA, and are ready to ship out.
Now the end customer has some places where they may want to use some
different add-in cards. Specifically, they might want a dual-channel
Ethernet card instead of the single-channel card that we're now using.
Assuming that I import the driver component for this alternate card and
build it into my XPE image, do I actually have to have that card installed
on my development system when I do the FBA before resealing? Or will the
presence of the card be picked up when the resealed image is booted on the
actual hardware?
Asked a different way, am I going to have to have two different deployment
images: one that was FBA'd with the single channel card and one that was
FBA'd with the dual channel card?
